Seasons

Waters cannot quench His love
As we stand, rooted in our creator
The one who gives us breath
Allowing the refining fire to burn
Consuming the old fruit of seasons past.
As we let go, it falls away
Released, but never forgotten
For the charred fruit of dreams left unfulfilled
Will make way for new life once again
Re-planted in the rich soil of faith.
Seasons come, and seasons go,
And your seasons will come again.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return, but water the Earth, making it bud and flourish, so that is yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led in peace.” -Isaiah 55:9

I was posting this on my Etsy and IG account, when I felt this specific verse was a promise for this particular season in our lives. I know we are all in such different places, with different hopes and dreams; Maybe God promised something that feels like it has gone unfulfilled, but hasn’t worked out as planned. Remembering the words of this verse, it’s a beautiful reminder that sometimes we are trying to take control and make these promises happen, when God wants to provide for us. We can’t see miracles without being in completely hopeless situations. His ways are higher than ours.

As we reflect on this promise, ask the Spirit what you’re trying to control. Sometime we are trying so hard to make something workout how we planned, or even how God promised, that we loose sight of God in the situation all together.
It may hurt a bit to let go, but it’s always worth it. As things unfold, it may be different than expected, but hold on to His peace. Sometimes we need to backtrack and find where the peace was lost, or simply hit our knees and pray. Prayer is the beautiful act of surrender, and in that surrender we are directly accessing our Father.

Love,
Sarah Camille SI

  1. Yet ANOTHER gifted piece, Camille! You really are intuitive to the Spirit and He knows He gets through to you. Which, of course, is why you are gifted!
I’d sit under your ministry ANYTIME!
Much love to you and your equally talented Mr. S.I.
