Back to Eden Yoga

I started teaching a yoga practice called  ‘Back to Eden Yoga’ when I lived in England.

The literal translation for yoga is ‘To unite; to be One’. Those who know me, know my faith flows out from all I do because it is the grounding for who I am. Therefore, my faith naturally surfaces when I practice yoga, because I am One with Christ.

My yoga is not only for Christians- everyone is welcome in my classes. I see every human being as a unique masterpiece; a work of art made by the hands of God. My faith flows from love, and no matter what each person believes, I know there is truth in learning to love themselves in finding who they were created to be.

“Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple, and God’s Spirit dwells within you. (…) God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.” – 1 Corinthians 3:17

We, as God’s temple, are not made for division. We are made for wholeness because our God is Holy, 3 in 1, and we are made in His image. We may never be completely whole, but we find wholeness in Him as we progress in balancing our lives, and letting go of the things that are hindering us from receiving.

For me, comparison was a huge struggle; a stronghold that I could only overcome by seeing myself for who God made me to be- unique. One of a kind. A work of art… a masterpiece for His glory.
As an artist, when I create a painting, I never want one painting to look the same as the other. They all represent a truth that God speaks to me in it’s time, but they are also so different in their own beautiful way. They are all a piece of me, and each sell of an original feels like I give away a piece of myself. I believe this is how every human is to God- an original. A piece of Himself that He designed to have the ability to be a vessel of sacredness, and I find my sacredness in the hands of the artist of the universe- the hands of love.

I don’t know about you, but for me, the enemy often attacks my mind with fear, and making me believe I am not enough, or that I need to look or be like someone else. But when I make time to return to my maker- this can be through yoga or in my own personal time of journaling, meditation, or painting, I find God there to bring me back to truth.

As we see in the trinity, God exists in all three parts of himself in love, and I believe that’s how He created us to live- in all three parts of ourselves (mind, body, and spirit), abiding in all of who He is – Love.

“Then God formed man out of the dust of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. Then man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7

You will find in Back to Eden Yoga, a lot is centered on the breath of life, and the garden of Eden. I often use guided meditation in my classes to take you back to creation, and see yourself being created by the hands and spirit of God; allowing yourself time to be still, and know… letting Him to speak to you in this time, and discover who he created you to be… to be loved.

“Be still and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46

Currently, I am only doing private hire classes for home groups, but I also offer online videos on my Youtube page. Below are a few videos you can practice at home. You can also find my channel and subscribe to stay up to date on these classes.
